That ethos goes right back to 1913 and the very beginnings of the company. Our founders, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, believed that a sports car should have a distinctive and individual character. They felt it should be built to the highest standards and be exhilarating to drive and own – many things have changed over the ensuing ninety plus years, but those goals are still very relevant to us today.

The Aston Martin V12 engine sits not just at the heart of the One-77, DBS, DB9, Rapide and V12 Vantage but also the 2010 DBR1-2 Le Mans race car.
The V12 Vantage was launched to critical acclaim in 2009, and in 2010, it arrived in the US. It is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range featuring a 6.0 litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb.ft) and has been dynamically honed to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.
The V12 engined DBR1-2 is an Aston Martin LMP1 race car which competed throughout 2009 and 2010. It won the Le Mans Series in 2009 and achieved three podiums in 2010.

In response to unprecedented customer demand, Aston Martin has confirmed that the V12 Vantage the most potent production sports car in the marques 96-year history will be made available in North America from later this year. Under the hood is a massive 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque. The company predicts a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). For comparison Aston's more mainstream V8 Vantage is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 which produces 420bhp and 470Nm of torque, enabling the car to run from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 180mph (288km/h).Published 1 year ago
