They say..
The Festival of Speed is far more than just a hillclimb: it can justifiably claim to be the world’s biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motor sport and car culture.
The Festival is motor racing's equivalent of Ascot or Wimbledon: an extravaganza of sound and colour that has been described as 'the garden party of the Gods'.
2010 Festival Theme: ‘Viva Veloce! – The Passion for Speed’. This theme celebrates the all-consuming fascination with motor racing, and in particular Italy’s global influence on the sport. From Alfa Romeo to MV Agusta, Ascari to Agostini, and Monza to the Mille Miglia, Italians have raced with breathtaking fervour, inspiring desire and devotion that transcends national identity.
2010 will feature the first Goodwood ‘Moving Motor Show,’ as a one-day extension to the hugely successful Festival of Speed. This inaugural event will be held within the grounds of Goodwood Park as a significant addition to the annual Festival of Speed and will take place on Thursday 1 July 2010. New cars buyers will be able to enjoy an exclusive motor show preview day, where they will not only be able to see the very latest new car models on display, but also climb aboard and experience the vehicles first-hand.
The Goodwood Revival is the world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged in the romantic time capsule of the Fifties and Sixties. As well as recreating the golden era of motor sport, the Revival offers exceptional wheel-to-wheel racing around a classic circuit, untouched by the modern world.

Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2008: Rally Stage Compilation
Compilation video of footage taken by myself at various locations around the Goodwood Forest Rally Stage during the 2008 Festival Of Speed. The soundtrack has been left untouched as I don't see the point in recording the sound of these classic cars, then drowning it out with music.
Footage includes (in no particular order); Audi Sport Quattro, Ford RS200, Peugeot 205 T16, Subaru Impreza WRC (1995), Subaru Impreza WRC (1999), Subaru Impreza WRC (2008), Peugeot-Cosworth, Hyundai Accent WRC, Mitsuibishi Lancer Evo IX, Skoda Octavia Evo III, Skoda Fabia WRC, Bremont Rally Raid Buggy, Lancia 037, Lancia Stratos, MG Metro 6R4, Toyota Celica GT-Four ST-185, Porsche 911 Carrera, Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, Renault 5 Maxi Turbo plus an assortment of Ford Escort Mk1's, Ford Escort Mk2's and a Ford Escort G3.
Special thanks to Petter Solberg (Subaru Impreza WRC 2008), Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus WRC) and Ian Gwynne (Skoda Octavia Evo III) for all managing to hit me with bits of the scenery; still, watching rally just wouldn't be the same if you didn't have parts of the course bouncing off your head!
Anyway, turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy!Published 3 years ago
