Honda has unveiled the all-electric 2013 Fit EV production vehicle at the Los Angeles auto show.
Honda will begin leasing the U.S.-spec Fit EV next summer in select West Coast markets in California and Oregon which will be expanded to six others on the East coast in early 2013.
The Honda Fit EV is powered by a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery feeding a 92 kW (125 PS / 123 hp) coaxial electric motor. The Fit will feature three drive modes - Econ, Normal and Sport - with a possible range of 123 miles (198 km) in Econ mode.
Recharging the batteries via a 240 volt charger can take as little as three hours.
The 2013 Honda Fit EV is priced at $36,625 and has an estimated lease priced of $399 a month.Published 3 months ago

Honda has released the last of five films on the development of the 2012 euro-spec Civic, this time the topic is safety features.
The technologies here help make the Civic one of the most competitive offerings in the C-segment in Europe.
The new Honda Civic features an Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure designed to maintain the integrity of the cabin cell in the event of a crash. It also has a collision avoidance system called Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) which can warn a driver of an impending crash or reduce the impact of a collision by means of adjusting the braking.
The new Civic also comes with a pedestrian-detection technology to help avoid accidents between the car and passersby.Published 4 months ago
